HowTo Process Security Groups
Overview:
When migrating content using Proventeq Migration Accelerator, it’s essential to map source security information (users and groups) to the correct target identities. You may need to map a Security Group from the source system to a User in the target system. This ensures that permissions and ownership are correctly assigned during Migration
Steps to Map Security Group to Target Type: User
1. Navigate to Security Information Mapping
- In the Migration Preparation phase of Proventeq Migration Accelerator:
- Go to Security Information Mapping.
- Locate the User card.
2. Download the Mapping Template
Click Download Template of the Group on the User card.
- This will generate a CSV file containing group source security details.
3. Edit the CSV File
Open the CSV in Excel and update the following columns:
- Mapping_Type → Group
- Source_Type → Group
- Source_Value → Group name
- Target_Type → Set to User.
- Target_Value → Group name
Example:
5. Import the Updated File
- Return to Proventeq Migration Accelerator.
- Click Import on the User card for Group mapping and upload the modified CSV.
6. Validate the Mapping
- After uploading the CSV, Validate all mappings.
- Ensure all mappings are correct and no entries remain unmapped.
- Once validation is successful, proceed with the migration.
